Online learning

Online learning

This form of learning has increasingly become popular in recent times. People had misgivings a few years ago about effectiveness and viability of online learning platform. But today it has been adopted as a recognised means of instruction across countries and institutions. We all are aware of leaders in higher education platforms like edX, Coursera, MOOC's etc.

Traditionally, SEN ( Special education needs) services are delivered one on one in person and they are highly effective depending on the needs of the child, suitability of a particular therapy and inter personal dynamics between a therapist and learner. Sometimes, SEN services may not be available in our area or it may not be suitable for us to access them due to school schedule, commute distances, parents work schedule or any number of reasons. In such scenarios online classes can be of great help. In the domain of Special Education and therapy the following organisations support online therapy as well-

Mayo Clinic

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)

 American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)

American Psychological Association (APA)

National Association of Social Workers (NASW)

American Counseling Association (ACA)

US Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
